What to do after posting your first job

Finished posting your first job? Now it’s time to take the next few steps to connect with the right independent support worker and get things rolling. Here’s a simple guide to help you:

  1. Manage applications as they come in.
  2. Check your messages and reply to applicants.
  3. ‘Meet and greet’ to chat about the job.
  4. Finalise rates and hours, then ask for an agreement.
Note: If the job was eligible for instant booking, then you will be able to progress to organising the first session once you have accepted a support worker’s application.

1. Find and manage applications as they come in

Sign in and head to the Manage workers tab to go through applications to your job posting. You can also search for independent support workers, view their profiles and contact anyone who looks like a good fit.

If your job was eligible for instant booking, then you will be able to view, accept or decline support worker applications without the need to arrange a meet and greet or asking for an agreement. You can find out more about instant bookings and how they can streamline booking support.

2. Start a conversation with the right match

Think you’ve found the right match? Respond to their message to get to know each other.

3. Set up your first 'meet and greet'

Once you’ve found a support worker you think might be a good fit, book a quick meet and greet video call to chat, ask questions, and confirm if it’s a match.

4. Finalise rates and hours

When you’re both ready, and agree on rates and hours, then ask your chosen support worker to create an agreement to lock in support session details.
