1. Your Safety and Protection

A range of safeguards are in place to offer you safety, protection and peace of mind. Every session booked on Mable comes with insurance to cover your actions as a support worker while providing care for clients. Make sure you only perform services for which you are qualified, and make sure your agreement is accepted by your client before the support session.

2. Managing your sessions on Mable

Your agreement with your client should contain all the details for your support sessions, including what services will be provided, the schedule, and the agreed rate.

Managing sessions on Mable is crucial for ensuring insurance coverage and the efficient tracking of support. We understand that sometimes you will need to cancel a session. It is important to notify your client ahead of time, so that it may be possible to make other arrangements. If you planned the session, you can select 'Cancel session'. If your client planned the session, select 'Decline'.

3. How to make your first session a success

Make sure you have everything you need for your support sessions. This includes knowing how to get there, and understanding the client’s needs.

Here are some suggestions to help make your first support session successful:

  • arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled session start time,
  • introduce yourself to any present family members or friends,
  • maintain a strong focus on your client throughout the session,
  • remember to ask your client what they would like to do during the session,
  • ensure your client is comfortable doing particular tasks,
  • suggest ideas or activities that are in line with their hobbies and interests.
