We have updated our job application process to include more key information upfront. This information will also be more visible and accessible for Mable clients.

This change helps to simplify the process of reviewing applications. It also provides Mable clients with more key information, so you can make a quicker decision on who the right person to work with is.

For support workers, you will now be encouraged to update your indicative rates while completing a job application.

What's changed for clients

You can now clearly view the applying support worker's indicative rates, and whether they provide some or all of the services you have requested in your job posting. You'll also be able to see key information such as their availability to work a session, and their personalised message to you regarding the specific job.

All of this information will be visible in their application summary card in Manage workers.

Please note that workers who do not provide the service can still apply for your job, however this new change will make it clearer for you to match with the right worker who can provide the services you have requested.

What's changed for independent support workers

Putting your best foot forward is key in applying for a job on Mable. As such, it is important to provide potential clients with as much important information as possible.

Indicative rates are one of the main criteria clients look for when choosing a worker. You can now update and adjust your indicative rate from within the public job application form.

You won't be able to change this once you've submitted your application, so be mindful of what rates would be suitable for this job. Indicative rates are exactly that - indicative - and you will still have a chance to negotiate your rate with your client before coming to a final agreement.

This information will be shared with the client with the rest of your application.

Post a job on Mable to explore this new feature today.

Disabled mums are the quiet supermums
As the water trickled over the rocks and my kids explored the bush, their laughter mingling with birdsong, I sat quietly on the wooden seat, taking it all in. The peace, the joy - but also something else. My eyes welled up just as my independent support worker glanced at me. She slipped an arm around me and gave a gentle squeeze. I didn't need to explain what I was feeling but she already knew. That feeling is something that I think every parent living with a disability needs to hear and embrace. Like driving them to a birthday party, kicking a soccer ball in the backyard. It's crying quietly in the kitchen when disability and parenthood all feels too much.
