Keeping your support going through NDIS changes

New rules are coming into effect across the NDIS. Mable is making sure support workers know exactly what they need to do, so you can keep working with the person you know and trust.

What's changing

Mable is applying to become an NDIS Digital Platform Operator

We're registering under the NDIS Commission's new category "NDIS Digital Platform Operator". It's an added commitment to further strengthen the safeguarding, quality, and compliance standards we've always aimed for.

The NDIS Worker Screening Check is now mandatory

The NDIS Worker Screening Check sets a high standard recognised across the care sector. If you use NDIS funds to pay for your services, your support worker must have one by the end of the year to continue providing them.

Support workers have clear guidance about what they need to do

We're reaching out to support workers via email, SMS, and in-app messages to ensure everyone who needs an NDIS Worker Screening Check gets one before the deadline.

What this means for you

Your choice and control stay the same

Choosing who supports you is still entirely up to you, and that isn't changing. You'll always have the final say in who provides your support, based on what works for you and your goals.

Support workers now need an NDIS Worker Screening Check

Every support worker on Mable who works with NDIS participants will need an NDIS Worker Screening Check by the end of the year. This applies to all support workers, no matter how long they've worked with you.

How you can help

Ask your support worker if they've applied for an NDIS Worker Screening Check. It can take up to 8 weeks, so it's best that they apply early. If they haven’t got one already, share this article with them.

Why we're asking for your help

We want to make sure your support is not disrupted. While most support workers are aware of what they need to do to keep providing services on Mable, a small nudge from the person they support can make a difference.

With your help, they have an added incentive to get their NDIS Worker Screening Check done ahead of schedule. Helping your support worker stay compliant is one of the simplest ways to make sure the services you both value continue.
