Learn about the upcoming changes to aged care funding from 1 July 2025 and what they mean for your work on Mable.
It’s about creating a flexible, personalised, and more supportive system for in-home aged care so older people can live independently at home for longer.
The new program is in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety and includes key updates such as new service types, more funding levels, and a new way of invoicing.
As a Digital Platform Provider, Mable has been preparing for these changes to ensure a smooth transition. We stay ahead of industry changes and update our platform to help you meet your obligations. We remain committed to innovation and flexibility for clients and independent support workers throughout industry changes.
Check out the Support at Home Guide from the Department of Health and Aged Care to find out more about these changes.
We'll be running Support at Home platform update webinars in June to make sure you're prepared and can confidently understand the Support at Home platform changes.
We also recommend you register for the Independent Support Worker Summit in May to get an in depth explanation of the changes from the Head of Government and Stakeholder Engagement at Mable.
From 1 July 2025, the NDIS Worker Screening Check will replace police checks as a mandatory requirement for new independent support workers signing up to Mable.*
Existing independent support workers can continue to use the platform as usual. However, once your current police check expires, you will be required to have an NDIS Worker Screening Check to continue providing support on Mable.

If you support older Australians with aged care funding, you will need to complete training in accordance with new Support at Home requirements.
To make it as seamless as possible, we’ll deliver this competency training to you through the platform and notify you when the courses are ready to access.
Some agreements with aged care clients may need to be updated. We will contact you if you need to take action.
To learn more about the new service types, check out the defined service list from the Department of Health and Aged Care.
* The NDIS Worker Screening Check is valid for five years. Despite its name, it is a standardised national assessment for people who provide support to both people with disabilities and older Australians. This check is a highly recognised qualification in the Australian care industry; it is transferable and widely accepted by most care providers and businesses.
At Mable, we’re here to support you and your clients through this transition. We stay ahead of industry updates and provide guidance to ensure you are compliant with all regulatory changes.
