Your obligations as a support worker
As a support worker, you have certain responsibilities. This includes the following:
The importance of support notes
Support notes are a record of your client’s support session. They describe the support you provided, the activities you both participated in and what was achieved during the session.
The importance of Health and Wellbeing notes
What to do when things don't go to plan
Things don’t always go according to plan, so it is important to have a clear cancellation policy in all agreements and understand how to submit an incident report through your dashboard.
Note: When supporting an aged care client, if the client cancels a service within 48 hours, the Support Worker may be entitled to charge the full amount. Service agreements should include cancellation terms that align with this requirement. Please note that if a Support Worker attempts to charge an aged care client for cancellations with more than 48 hours notice, this invoice may be rejected by the client’s aged care provider.
