Mable's decade of championing independence

Over the past 10 years, Mable has grown from an ambitious start-up into a trusted leader in the care and support services industry.

How Mable became a force for good

Mable connects people who need support to live independently with those who can provide it. As we celebrate our milestones and uphold our vision, we continue to make an impact.

Receive or provide support on your terms

Our profit-for-purpose model allows us to remove overhead costs, so support organised on Mable is more affordable, and support workers can earn a higher hourly rate. We are helping to solve the lack of care options and affordability in regional, LGBTIQA+, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Giving back choice and control

Over the past decade, we have achieved many milestones, impacted many lives, and pioneered innovative solutions. These actions reflect our commitment to championing independence for our community so they can take control of their care and support services.

We connect people to a diverse community of support workers

Mable’s platform offers 180 search filters, including location, culture, language, gender, and qualifications. This level of personalisation empowers people with true choice and control.

Get to know the independent support workers on Mable:

  • 45% come from a cultural background other than Australian
  • 40% speak more than one language
  • 72% are female, and 28% are male
  • 30% hold either a Certificate III certification, a Nursing degree, or Allied Health qualifications.

Hear from our founders

Our co-founders, Peter and Tony, share a little insight into Mable’s journey.

Inspired by Peter’s personal experience navigating the support sector, Mable has become Australia’s largest and most diverse online community of independent support workers proudly servicing the needs of older people and people with disability.

We needed to develop a solution that genuinely improved people’s lives, resonated with their needs, and felt like they were getting value.

Partnering for workforce solutions

We partner with hundreds of aged care providers like Hazel Homecare to offer a workforce solution that connects them to thousands of verified support workers. Mable’s online platform supports aged care providers with compliance requirements and simplifies the management of high-volume caseloads.

Through our Business Partnerships program, we have:

  • Partnered with more than 230 aged care providers in Australia

  • Delivered more than 100,000 hours of support through B2B partners every month

  • Connected more than 20,000 support workers with B2B partners to provide services.

“Mable provides us with a pool of qualified support workers we can rely on. The platform provides much more choice, control, and a quick and simple solution to finding staff.”

Memories of Mable winners

We’re officially 10 years old and to mark a decade of Mable we asked you to show us how you like to celebrate.

We appreciate every support worker and client who got involved.

Our winners, Ruth and Haley, shared with us how they worked together to make beautiful handmade gifts for Haley’s friends.

Haley and I enjoy our weekly support sessions. One week we had lots of fun making handcrafted soap that is Christmas-themed that Haley is giving to her friends as gifts. We were really pleased with how fabulous they have turned out.

Community-led solutions in remote towns across Australia

Mable’s Community Partnerships program creates place-based, community-led solutions that allow people to access the care they need to continue living where they choose.

Through Mable’s Community Partnerships program, we have:

  • More than 60 active regional towns

  • Enabled more than 200,000 hours of support. Without Mable, these services would not have been possible

  • Connected close to 880 clients with more than 1,000 independent support workers.

“In Pingelly, as residents grew older and their needs changed, often people had to leave town. In response, we created the Staying in Place program, which connects locals with locals for vital support services, resulting in people being able to stay in their own homes and communities. Mable is a critical partner in the program’s success.”

Meet our art competition winner

We asked our Mable community to help us create a commemorative artwork for our Sydney office.

We received lots of beautiful submissions. Thank you to everyone who entered, for creating such thoughtful pieces.

The winning artwork was submitted by Todd Murfitt from WA.

Enabling independent living

Mable’s Home and Living Consultancy helps individuals navigate the NDIS Home and Living journey. It’s led by experts with lived experience and includes personalised consultancy packages to help individuals achieve their home and living goals.

“Going to the workshop led by Libby and then being pointed to a resource where there were case studies is exactly what helped us make independent living possible for Blake. Now, he has support workers who can tailor his activities to his needs, and he lives life just like any other man in his 20s would.”
