Top moments in 2017

We’re here to connect people. And as our community grows, we’re revolutionizing the way community support is delivered in Australia. Together with our workers and clients, we’re creating the Mable movement.

We’ve seen the movement gain momentum in 2017, with a year of great moments. We’ve reflected on six of the best:

10,000 new customers

We welcomed 10,000 new customers, who joined our online social platform seeking better life experiences. We’ve seen relationships form between clients and workers that have resulted in amazing outcomes for both – clients who’ve visited Fiji, performed in a wheelchair burlesque show or doubled the hours of support they can get with their existing funding. And workers who’ve fulfilled a lifelong dream to work for themselves.

Consumer Directed Care

We marked the day on February 27 when Consumer Directed Care became a reality. Since then, we’ve partnered with progressive Approved Providers to deliver self-managed Home Care Packages – empowering people to choose what services they want, what they pay for those services and who comes to their homes to deliver them.

A truly national NDIS

We’ve watched the NDIS roll-out gain momentum, with more clients around the country using their funding to build their support networks through Mable. We welcome the recent news that WA will join the NDIS and transition all eligible Western Australians by July 2020. The NDIS is now truly a national scheme.

1,300+ available workers and counting

We can proudly say we have 1,300+ available workers and counting, who have chosen Mable for the flexibility and control it offers, as well as the chance to deliver person-centred care. Some of these wonderful individuals are featured in our blog this year, from an ex-cop turned novelist, to a nurse who wanted to deliver the kind of care she’d want for herself and her family.

Introducing Allied Health

We want clients to have the comfort and confidence of a support network that’s tailored to all their needs. To expand our network of supports, this year we welcomed Allied Health practitioners to the platform, to include psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists.

The Mable app

We’re using the latest technology to connect customers and workers to each other. This year, we launched the Mable app for workers, to help them connect with clients faster and run their businesses on the go. This, along with at least 30 other improvements to the platform over the year, are designed to deliver our community with the best experience that we can.

What’s in the crystal ball for 2018? We’re enabling people who need support, and those who provide it, to create quality long-term relationships. We’ll keep working on the technology which supports those relationships, to make it even better and more user-friendly. And we’ll always be here if you need us.
