The Makers Nest at Tramsheds

Held only twice a year, this popular event showcases those who design and make fashion, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, artworks and more! With 50 stall holders selling all- Australian made products, there is bound to be someone for all ages and budgets. There is also a popular Christmas themed workshop for those who would like to create some art themselves!

Martin Place Christmas Tree

Sydney’s largest Christmas tree will delight audiences and brighten up Martin Place from 23 November to 1 January. Every evening there will be a kaleidoscope of colours every 15 minutes from 7pm. You can also sing along with choirs at the Martin Place tree every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 28 November to 22 December from 6pm to 8:30pm.

Lights of Christmas

Lights of Christmas, presented by Paynter Dixon and created and produced by AGB Events, will return to St Mary’s Cathedral for its 10th year. The light projection event will continue to showcase community choirs and performers from across Sydney nightly at 7.30pm.

Christmas Square at Federation City 

Get into the festive spirit with a visit to Christmas Square, located at Federation Square. Visit Santa’s House to take part in fun daily activities and dance along with Santa on the Digital Facade in an interactive augmented reality experience. There will be free music performances during the month, Food Truck Friday, a nativity scene, silent disco, outdoor cinema, Christmas markets and more, all at Christmas Square!

Myer has unveiled its 64th year of the magical Christmas windows. This year the theme is The Gumnut Babies by Australian author and illustrator May Gibbs

Carols Extravaganza in South Bank Piazza

This festive season, The South Bank Piazza will be home to the Carols Extravaganza – an exciting Christmas production featuring film, song, dance and a visit from Santa himself! The Enchanted Garden

This Christmas, journey through The Enchanted Garden at Roma Street Parkland and experience one of Brisbane’s largest lighting displays.

The Enchanted Garden takes patrons through a series of shimmering gardens and delicately-lit weeping figs, to the treetops of a twinkling rainforest. Additional entry and exit points have been added to this year’s event, so visitors are encouraged to enter and exit the pathways at their own pace.

Gold Lotto City Hall Lights

The Gold Lotto City Hall Lights return with an enchanting, brand new story by celebrated Brisbane Children’s Author Samantha Wheeler.
Taking place nightly, the playful Aussie Christmas tale comes to life via animation onto City Hall every 15 minutes. With its enchanting narrative and creative flair, this intricate lighting display.

Christmas Lights Trail 

Perth will light up this Christmas with 27 light installations and vibrant decorations throughout the city. Light installations will include stunning animated lights, festive street decorations, lively projections and festivities that brighten malls, streets and parks across the city. To ensure all families can enjoy this Christmas spectacle, the City of Perth will be making the Lights Trail accessible to people using walking aids, wheelchairs and people with prams.

Lotterywest Christmas Symphony 

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Christmas Symphony which drew a crowd of 30,000, 2019 will again delight audiences of all ages.

Led by conductor Guy Noble and soprano Emma Pettemerides, Christmas Symphony will feature a complete program of Christmas classics from ballet, opera and the big screen. Families can sing-along to Jingle Bells and Joy to the World while also enjoying classical favourites including Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess: Summertime and Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular 1812 Overture, featuring a spectacular fireworks-filled finale.

Community Christmas Carols 

Through its Community Christmas Carols Grants, the City of Hobart supports events that bring the community together to celebrate Christmas. In 2019, the City of Hobart is supporting ta number of Community Christmas Carol events.

Upcycling Xmas Workshop 

Supported by the City of Hobart, this three-hour drop-in workshop will provide all the materials you need to create festive decorations. With plenty of goodwill, participants will be guided through the process of upcycling and reusing their old decorations or to make new ones using everyday materials on hand at the South Hobart Tip Shop Education Centre.
