Mable welcomes Kate Carnell to the board
The Australian Financial Review recently featured a story about the appointment of Kate Carnell to the Mable board. Kate was previously engaged for five years as Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman and now brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about the NDIS to Mable.
The article outlined how Mable can help NDIS recipients achieve better value for their funding.
She explained that NDIS participants are saying that their packages don’t go far enough, applying upwards pressure on the packages to be expanded and therefore, costing more. She says that Mable ensures NDIS participants receive significantly more services for their dollar which, in turn, reduces costs.
In May, Prime Minister Scott Morrison warned that the NDIS was in danger of experiencing a cost blow-out of $26 billion next financial year, and that it would only continue to worsen.
According to Linda Reynolds, the Minister in charge of the scheme, the NDIS would ultimately end up costing more than Medicare, and the cost could reach $60 billion by 2030.
