2016 is going to be even bigger

Wow, I can’t believe another year has passed. 2015 was a big year for aged care and disability support:

  • Plans for the full roll out of the NDIS were announced for NSW, Victoria, SA and Tasmania, and hopefully soon we’ll have full roll out plans announced for Queensland, NT and WA.
  • On 1 July 2015, all aged care home care packages became consumer directed and in February 2017, home care packages will be linked to the consumer and be portable.

At long last, consumer choice and control is within grasp for Australians who need support to live independently.

This time last year, Mable had 50 approved care and support workers on our platform. Today, we have close to 500, and more are joining every day. Our community of care and support workers has made a difference to the lives of hundreds of people.

At the same time, we were featured on Studio 10, the Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, the Age and on radio.

So, I wanted to take this moment to thank everyone who has supported Mable in 2015 and become part of our community. Mable is simply an enabling platform that connects and empowers people. We enable people with a disability or those who are ageing to take control of their life and their support. At the same time, Mable helps care and support workers get a better deal by managing their own small business providing support and services directly to their clients. I truly believe it is a game changer.

2016 will be bigger and better, and you can help. Mable is community-powered: it grows when people we know and like (that’s you!) tell others about it. There are lots of people out there who want to hear from someone who’s tried a service like Mable. Could you help out by taking a couple of minutes to let them know? The larger our community of both people who need care and support, and workers that provide those services, the better the online platform is able to help and serve everyone.
