In my second year at University, I was required to design, model and texture an environment of my choice, and then animate a ready-rigged robot within it.
I wanted to make my robot dance, so i modeled a 1950's style kitchen and went on the hunt for the right piece of music.
While driving one day, i heard The Greasers playing on Triple J's Unearthed. I contacted the band and they were more than happy for me to use their song, 'Shelly' in my animation.
This project introduced me to UV texture mapping and more in-depth use of lighting. I purposely designed the venetian blinds and reflective surfaces so that i could experiment with lighting effects. In hind-sight, i could have dulled the reflections some more. Live and learn.
